Bodywork

In the aftermath of an accident, your muscles often hold onto tension and "stagnation"—a feeling of being stuck or tight as the body tries to protect itself. At Meeha Mindbody, I incorporate therapeutic bodywork into every recovery plan to help your tissues breathe, move, and heal again.

Because every person’s recovery is unique, we offer a variety of specialized styles to meet you exactly where you are on your healing journey.

Understanding Our Bodywork Styles

Whether you need deep physical release or a gentler, more soothing touch, we select the method that best supports your comfort and progress.

Gua Sha

Purpose

Releasing surface-level fascia and encouraging the body to clear out stagnation.

What to expect

A traditional "scraping" technique using a smooth tool to gently glide over the skin.

Japanese Shiatsu

Purpose

Patients who feel "on edge" or sensitive to deep pressure; restores overall balance.

What to expect

A gentle, restorative treatment that follows the body's energy channels to move Qi and ease sensitivity.

Fire Cupping

Purpose

Stretching tight fascia, releasing deep-seated muscle tension, and improving circulation.

What to expect

Glass cups create a gentle suction to pull and expand tissue, rather than compressing it.

Tui Na

Purpose

Increasing blood flow, restoring range of motion, and breaking up stubborn tissue.

What to expect

A focused, orthopedic massage using rhythmic techniques to stretch muscles and break up deep tension.

The Power of "Pulling" vs. "Pushing"

It is fascinating to note the difference between traditional massage and techniques like Fire Cupping. While most massage styles work by compressing (pushing) the tissue, Fire Cupping uses negative pressure to pull the tissue upward. This creates space within the fascia and muscles, allowing for a deeper level of expansion and relief that traditional pressure sometimes can't reach.
