Acupuncture

There are 3 styles of acupuncture that I use in my practice, either individually or in combination as needed for desired results.

Chinese: a special combination of points is selected based on the chief complaint with insertions ranging from shallow to deep. There can be deep sensation experienced at certain points since this style incorporates specific needle manipulation techniques for desired results.

Japanese: this acupuncture differs from the Chinese style by using smaller finer needles, gentle insertion techniques, shallower insertion and fewer needles overall.

Orthopedic: this style is more technical with needling directly into joints, facets, knotted muscles and congested fascial tissues for therapeutic results. This style allows bound tissue to release and increases local blood circulation to promote healing.

Ways of enhancing acupuncture treatment:

Electro-stimulation: cables plugged into an electro-machine are clipped between two inserted acupuncture needles that run an electric current between them.

Moxabustion: a form of heat therapy where processed mugwort leaves, also known as moxa, are formed into cones and then burned on or near the skin to stimulate or warm acupuncture points around the body.

Chinese Herbs

Custom herbal formuals are created for your specific needs based on a thorough intake and pulse diagnosis. Formulas are available in the following forms.

Bulk: Dried herbs that need to be soaked for 2 hours and then cooked into a tea. This process takes time but is very potent.

Granule: Herbs that can be stirred into hot water.

Pills: Premade herbal formulas that have been put into pill form.
